OUR READING PERIOD FOR CHAPBOOKS IS FROM JULY 1ST TO NOVEMBER 30TH OF EVERY YEAR.
- Though you are welcome to submit chapbook manuscripts throughout the year, we will not read them before the reading period begins, and will not get back to you with our word on your submission until shortly after the reading period ends.
- We accept collections of poetry, fiction, critical theory, non-fiction, comics, and a mix or blend of any or all of the above, from emerging Canadian writers. We do not accept international chapbook submissions.
- Collections should be no longer than 25 single-spaced pages in a Word document. Prose-heavy collections would benefit from being slightly shorter.
- Writers who have appeared in (parenthetical) are welcome to submit chapbook manuscripts for our consideration.
Since we are still a very small press (a micro-press, you might say), having your chapbook published with us will not get you fortune or even fame. But it will get you a tangible collection of your work, edited and laid out by a pair of very passionate people, and then designed and hand-bound in classic words(on)pages style. From our end, it’s about creating something really cool and innovative with and for a community of like-minded creatives. If that’s what you’re into, get at us.
We accept chapbook manuscript submissions by e-mail (to firstname.lastname@example.org) only. Send your manuscript as a .doc, .docx, or PDF attachment, and please be sure to tell us a bit about yourself in the body of your e-mail—particularly where you’re from, and your publishing experience so far (including journals and magazines, other chapbooks, and full-length collections).
Check out the chapbooks page for more information on our chapbooks.
